Elementary School Curriculum
Our Kindergarten students must be 5 years old on or before August 15. These classes continue to develop students through group and individual instruction through active learning. Our Kindergarten students continue to build on the strong foundation build in preschool. They have daily instruction in phonemic awareness, reading, and writing to integrate all aspects of print so students make necessary connections with language.
Our Kindergarten Math program is standards based and offers in depth mathematical thinking, which allows students to work to solve problems both individually and through collaboration. Lessons involve use of manipulative and higher order thinking. Teachers in kindergarten continue correct handwriting instruction moving each student closer to mastery. Science and Social Studies are standards based for this age and are taught using thematic units. These units integrate all areas of the curriculum.
1st - 5th Grade
Strong learners start with a strong foundation. We focus on building students' confidence in their ability to learn and succeed. This includes teaching them the basic skills you'd expect while encouraging students to develop a sense of responsibility and accountability.
It's important to help young students find a learning style that suits them. Our teachers remain sensitive to individual needs, building trust and making sure each child feels heard. This environment is built on a curriculum that promotes spiritual and academic growth through Biblical principles.
