Cheerleading

The 2011-2012 Varsity Cheerleading squad has started out this year with a bang! They attended camp in Destin Florida the last week in July and returned with many trophies and excitement to start the new season. While at camp, the squad won first place in competing with their home fight song, second place in the Camp Champs X-treme Routine, and third place in the Camp Champs Cheer Competition. The Rosemark squad was also the only squad at camp to receive all superior ribbons during evaluations along with the Superior trophy, along with a bid to cheer at the Capital One Bowl in Orlando, Florida this New Year's. Other awards received at camp include a Spirit Stick each night at camp and they were the first squad to win the "Whale of the Day" which is an award for the squad who was the most impressive. In addition to the team as a whole excelling, three girls from the squad, Brooke Dowdle (junior), Chandler Bolton (sophomore), and Shelby Terry (sophomore) were selected for the All-American Team with an opportunity to cheer in the New Year's Parade in London, England. Also, the captain, Maggie Robertson (senior) and co-captain, Ashleigh Douglas (junior) we invited to cheer in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York this November. The girls have returned with new ideas and we are expecting from them a great season as they lead us in school spirit! Go Rebels!!
