Red Carpet
Parents, Alumni, and Friends of TRA
were treated like celebrities at the Vision Banquet on March
23rd. They paraded through the velvet ropes into Founders
Hall on a 50-foot red carpet to share in an enchanted evening
filled with wonderful food, entertainment and excitement
about the upcoming expansion of our campus.
Alumni Justin Hanson who currently works as an Evening Assignment
Editor for WMCTV, served as the Master of Ceremonies for
the evening. He welcomed to stage past Talent Show Winners
from each school, who sang movie themes to further enhance
the Hollywood atmosphere. Miss Maddye Regis sang Favorite
Things from the Sound of Music and Logan Vaughn performed
When You Wish Upon a Star from Pinocchio.
Many members of our TRA Family shared with the audience
their past experiences. Bart and Melia Garey and their children
have been named as our Honorary Family for the Continuing
the Tradition Campaign. Mr. Garey shared special memories
from the years his four children have spent here. Dale Creasy
was also a featured speaker who shared how TRA shaped his
early life and how it is continuing to shape the lives of
his family.
After much anticipation, Mr. Scott unveiled the floor plans
and the architect’s renderings of the new high school
and the elementary expansion. He later conveyed the Board’s
immediate and long-term plans for the school.
The Vision Banquet was also the night to kickoff the Continuing
the Tradition Capital Campaign. Lori Regis, the Director
of Development, presented a check for $302,974.70 to the
school from individual donors. She then challenged TRA families
to give enthusiastically, in the same manner as these previous
donors. For the finale, Amanda Horvath, who has been chosen
as Dorothy in the upcoming High School Drama Production
of Wizard of Oz, closed the evening with Somewhere Over
the Rainbow.
