Jr. Kindergarten Jr./Sr. Kindergarten Tipton Rosemark Academy's
preschool is dedicated to providing a caring atmosphere to enhance a child's
positive self-image. Each early childhood teacher's goal is to ensure
daily opportunities for mental, emotional, social, spiritual, and physical
growth.
The Language Arts curriculum from "Land of the Letterpeople" uses inflatable characters to teach letter recognition and letter sounds in a fun and imaginative way. In math a "hands-on" approach is implemented to teach the identification of the numbers 1-10 along with their matching sets. The math program also includes color, shape, and position recognition, distinguishing between same and different, completing patterns and sequencing. The class time is structured to encourage imaginative play. This is accomplished through the use of center time, art, and free play which are all incorporated into the daily schedule.

Kindergarten
Kindergarten is a time of vast discovery and learning about one's self and the world away from home. Kindergarten children are naturally curious and motivated to learn about their environment. The Tipton Rosemark kindergarten curriculum is designed to build on the curiosity of the child and to provide direction in learning the basic academic and social skills necessary for entrance into the first grade. Our kindergarten program addresses the needs and readiness levels of this age by creating a secure environment where the children are exposed to formal learning through teacher centered and child centered activities. The program revolves around an accelerated curriculum that covers the areas of phonics, literature and reading, mathematics, social studies, science, writing, Bible, music, art, and physical education. "Lives of the Letterpeople" is the language arts program which correlates with our Jr.K program, "Land of the Letterpeople". The ABeka math curriculum not only teaches new skills, but constantly reviews previously learned skills.Throughout the day students are able to participate in enrichment activities through small group and individualized instruction. Creative expression is encouraged in our curriculum because we believe that it is important for students to learn to properly communicate their ideas before reaching first grade. We believe the transition from home to school can be enhanced through parental involvement. Parents can help their children feel secure about school when they support the teacher and when they show an interest in what happens during the school day. There are many opportunities for parents to volunteer their time to assist in the classroom or with special activities such as field trips. A cooperative effort between parents and teachers helps students build the self-confidence needed to meet the challenge of elementary school. ...Learning to Live
