The
Tipton Rosemark elementary program is based on the belief that a strong
academic foundation enables children to enter a quality secondary school
and to be properly prepared to achieve at the highest levels in a college
preparatory school. The TRA elementary program emphasizes a balanced
curriculum that includes classroom instruction in language arts, reading,
mathematics, science and social studies based on Biblical principles,
Bible, art, music, and physical education. We believe learning should
be interesting, challenging, and timely in preparing our children for
the world of tomorrow. Students' minds are challenged beyond the basic
curriculum through classroom activities and special projects that develop
divergent thinking and problem solving skills. Computer assisted instruction
allows students to utilize software designed to reinforce their knowledge
and skills in many subject areas. The curriculum is designed to provide
all children with the maximum in educational opportunities to enhance
both academic and social development and to strengthen the character
qualities of responsibility and accountability.
The idea that each child should develop
confidence is a belief that is held by all faculty and staff, and it
is believed that a close student-teacher relationship is the first step
towards a positive self-concept. We strive to assist each student with
individual attention where teachers can build on a caring, trusting
relationship and create an environment where exceptional academic and
life skills can mature. Teachers utilize small and large group instruction
to meet the various needs and readiness levels of each student in the
class.
The elementary grades are housed in a
modern facility, which features self-contained classrooms that are designed
to meet the needs of a challenging curriculum and provide ample space
for a healthy learning environment. Each grade consists of two or three
classes with availability in each determined by the grade level.
